Hi all,
Hope the holiday season is treating you well so far🙂!
As a heads up, I’ve changed the format of the newsletter based on your feedback and cut it down to focus on the most important stuff (you’ll see below).
Hope you like it, and as always feel free to shoot me a reply and say hello!
With that, let’s get into it…
WHAT'S COOKING LOS ANGELES
1. Joi Cafe Opens Restaurant Spin-Off in Thousand Oaks
JoiBIRDS - This new, plant-based restaurant is essentially an extension of the very popular Joi Cafe (entirely vegan and gluten-free) in nearby Westlake Village. I can say from firsthand experience that I’m in for anything restaurant owner Joi Stearns is serving up. Check out some photos from their website🌱🚫🌾:
2. Sichuan-inspired Market with Grab-and-go Options Opens in Larchmont Village
Suá Superette - This new, modern market features freshly prepared items with lots of free-from options! Their in-house chefs use organic, local produce and their entire menu is dairy-free (DF) & refined-sugar free with many gluten-free (GF) and nut-free (NF) options (fyi though, their kitchen is not celiac safe). Check out these photos from their Instagram🥢🥬🫚:
3. Mexican Food Hall & Market Opens in Costa Mesa
Mercado González - This new, 70,000 square foot food hall in Orange County features about 20 colorful stalls. Both prepared Mexican dishes and groceries can be purchased. Check out this little walkthrough… (the dried chiles and tacos look incredibly delicious🌶️🌮 🤤):
4. New Popcorn with Unique Flavors Comes to Market
Confusion Snacks - This new, free-from snack features South Asian-American fusion flavors. Check out their GF popcorn varieties like mint or chili chaat🍿🍃🌶️! Currently, you can find them at Erewhon or Mother’s Market.
5. A Great Gluten-free Gift Guide (celiac approved)
Check out this excellent holiday gift-guide (gluten-free food products included) from one of
